Dig Deep with Paul Watson (Itch / Wired For Sound) 090212

On this week's show we are very pleased to welcome DJ, producer, club promoter, record boffin, and all round taste maker, Paul Watson.

After doing 6 mini-mixes for the show over the years (going as far back as December 2006 and most recently a Back From Brazil mix in May 2011) we're really pleased to have Paul live in the studio for the first time.

Paul has been buying records seriously since he was at school; over the last 20 odd years he has amassed a vast knowledge of dance music, from the late 60's till present day.

Paul has manned the counter at Action Records and Fatcity, and is resident DJ and promoter at Preston club nights Itch and Wired For Sound.

2011 saw Paul release his debut single, Watson's Itch Dub of Cliff Richard's Ease Along (a 1978 Balearic secret weapon). The track came out in December 2011 on a limited edition 12" picture disc, which sold out by January, hitting the number one spot in Juno's Best Sellers of the week in the process.

The release landed at the number 8 spot in the Dig Deep End Of Year Top 30, and came backed with a Cottam remix.

With eclectic musical tastes reaching as wide as boogie, soul, nu-disco, slomo deep house, techno, soul, funk and proper disco, you can guarantee the Watson is never far from the cutting edge of things...

Expect choice selections from Paul throughout the show, and we can't wait to hear what he has in store for mini-mix number 7. Plus PT will be kicking things off with an exclusive J Dilla Tribute set...
